- This position will work 30-40 hours per week and also provides partial medical benefits.
Starting pay is $15.00 - $17.50/hour depending on qualificationsApplicants must be at least 18 years old, due to the City's vehicle insurance requirements.The city of Aurora is looking for a motivated golf maintenance worker. A golf maintenance worker performs manual and skilled labor activities related to maintaining a city-owned golf course for the Golf Division.The Golf Division of the Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces department of the city of Aurora focuses on providing a superior golf experience as a recreational outlet at a great value while practicing sound environmental principles.

- PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mowing, trimming, raking, and small and large equipment operation
- Assists with construction/maintenance projects and snow removal
- May include pesticide and fertilizer applications, and basic irrigation maintenance and basic equipment maintenance
- May perform lead worker responsibilities
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Employees must be able to work varied hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: 1-3 years golf course maintenance experience.
Equivalent training and experience that will demonstrate the required knowledge, abilities, and skills will be considered.
Knowledge: Irrigation experience preferred. Basic knowledge of manual work skills and equipment operation
Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and citizens; perform manual labor for extended periods of time; understand oral and written instructions; operate or receive training on various types of maintenance equipment.
Skills: Skill in operating small power equipment and riding mowers is desirable
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, OR EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Valid driver's license is required at the discretion of the Supervisor.
This position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, etc.) in the course of their employment.
- WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Moderate physical work requiring the ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds; frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds; regular walking and standing; regular climbing, bending, kneeling, and crouching; hand/foot/eye coordination to perform appropriate duties; vision to read instructions; hearing and speech communication for communication with employees and citizens.
Work Environment: Works outdoors in varying weather conditions with exposure to dust, noise, chemicals, water, sun, blowing sand, and other conditions found in an outdoor environment.
