- The City of Aurora is seeking a Custodian to maintain the cleanliness of our Aurora Recreation Center. Work hours will be nights and weekends. The City of Aurora will conduct ongoing screenings of applications throughout the year; as soon as we determine to have a qualified pool of applicants, this position may close quickly and without notice.
- PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Restrooms and Locker rooms1. Spot clean, sinks, counters, faucets.2. Check floors for loose debris.3. Damp mop floor.4. Check and refill paper products as needed.5. Empty trash cans as needed.6. Clean mirrors as needed.General Areas (lobbies)1. Vacuum carpet as needed.2. Swiffer/clean wet entry floor as needed. (when raining or snowing)3. Wipe down counters, front desk, window sills, as needed4. Check and clean vending machines as needed.Lifeguard Areas1. Clean counters/sink as needed2. Wipe down appliances3. Clean refrigerator (inside and out)4. Vacuum rug, clean floor as needed.Pool Deck1. Pressure wash floor when needed.2. Sweep, mop, clean office area3. Wipe down bleachers as needed.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years old and have access to reliable transportation.
Related experience preferred.
- WORKING CONDITIONS
- Physical Demands: Light to moderate physical work; requires the ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds with assistance; lifting, carrying, walking and standing.Work Environment: Works primarily in an indoor pool environment. Must be able to work nights and weekends.Equipment Used: Use assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of facility.______________________________________________________________________________The City of Aurora is an equal opportunity employer.
